Hello!

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Michelle Schexneider. I am very excited to announce that I am the new doctor and owner of Tierrasanta Veterinary Hospital! I have been welcomed by the current staff here and I have already had the opportunity to meet some of the wonderful pet owners and adorable pets that have been served by TVH for a long, long time. I am eager to provide a fresh perspective to the care of your dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, and other little furries. I also enjoy creatures of the scaled variety like snakes and lizards.

I have been a veterinarian since 2007, when I earned my veterinary doctorate at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona. After an advanced internship in internal medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine, I began practicing in San Diego. I deeply enjoyed my work at a hospital in Chula Vista for the last 8 years where I was able to become an influential part of the community there. Although I will miss the staff and clients and patients at that hospital, I made the exciting decision to own my own practice in Tierrasanta. Dr. Luke has chosen to retire and sell her fine practice to me and I will continue to serve the pet inhabitants of Tierrasanta and its surrounding San Diego communities.

I absolutely love what I do and I submerge myself in my care and treatment of animals. There is not another profession that I would ever choose to be part of. This is what I was born to do.

I am a San Diego native from a military family, which means I have not always lived in San Diego. I have lived and traveled near and far and ultimately I returned to my home town where I belong. Will, my husband of 15 years, is also a San Diego native and a military man. We have a beautiful son in elementary school and 2 lively dogs that do nothing but entertain us every day. Our enormous fish tank is a hobby that we all share and we adore the San Diego scene.

I will host an open house and happy hour in the coming months to showcase my new hospital and its changes. Be sure to look for the invitation in the mail and in your inboxes!
